After weeks of work, the 2013 Jefferson City budget is a done deal. Councilmen approved the $31 million spending plan Monday night. The budget includes some cuts to the JCTV access channel and the city’s bus system, but also earmarks continued funding for infrastructure programs and public safety.
The council also approved a $100,000 payment to Columbia Regional Airport to help with attracting a new airline. Columbia has okayed $3 million for the airport. That funding will come from the University of Missouri, Boone County and private sources.
