The potential for a new Jefferson City high school complex moves a step closer.
Lincoln University and Linn State Technical College announce that they will buy the current High School and adjoining career center. Lincoln will spend a little over $8 million on the high school and Simonsen 9th Grade Center. A federal grant will cover the cost.
Linn State Tech will pay just over $1.7 million for the Nichols Career Center. Jefferson City’s public school officials will ask voters to approve a bond issue to pay for a new high school complex next door to the new St. Mary’s Health Center on Highway 179.
