Jefferson Citians get an earful about a proposed “mega” high school at a public forum last night.
The new Jefferson City High School would be built off Highway 179, adjacent to the new St. Mary’s complex. Opponents would rather see the district build two schools. Superintendent Brian Mitchell says both the Simonsen Ninth Grade Center and Jefferson City High School are currently overcrowded.
The new complex would have room for 3,500 students. Construction will require the passage of a bond issue.
