Obamacare approval is shot down again in the Show Me State. On Tuesday, House Republicans voted to defeat a pair of amendments that would have expanded Medicaid coverage to more low-income adults.
That expansion is called for under President Obama’s health care law. Democrats, including our Governor, support it. But Republican-led House and Senate committees keep voting against it.
If the expansion is passed, the federal government would cover the full cost for three years, and then the state would pay ten percent after that. The Supreme Court ruled last year that states have the option to reject the expansion, even though it’s called for by federal law.
