Officials say a man who led authorities in Texas on a 100 mile-per-hour car chase may be linked to the slaying of a former Columbia resident who was Colorado’s state prison chief.
The AP is reporting the man who may have murdered Tom Clements is a 28-year-old paroled prison inmate, Evan Ebel. Ebel was eventually shot by police Thursday. He’s essentially dead, but is hooked up to equipment for organ harvesting.
He was spotted in Texas driving a car that matched the description of the vehicle seen leaving the Clements home Tuesday night, around the time Clements was killed.
Clements worked in the Missouri Department of Corrections for more than 30 years, before moving to Colorado in 2011.
