An accident on Highway 54 in Callaway County shuts down the highway and grinds traffic to a halt yesterday afternoon.

The wreck happened just before 3:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes near Highway F in Fulton. MoDOT reported both westbound lanes were shut down following the crash, causing a big traffic backup.

The highway was re-opened after the accident scene was cleared.
