Your outdoor plans may have taken a hit because of all the rain we picked up over Memorial Day weekend, especially in Boone County and north Missouri. Columbia Regional Airport recorded 1.59″ of precipitation from Saturday through Monday, with most of that coming Monday (1.41″). Areas to the north got more than that. The National Weather Service reported parts of Northern Boone County had 2-4″ of rain in less than three hours at one point Sunday evening.
Several roads are closed because of high water, including Highway 124 between Fayette and Harrisburg, and a pair in Boone County west of Columbia, Routes E and ZZ near the Perche Creek.
