We now know the name of a Jefferson City man who is in jail, after he was caught just two blocks from where he robbed a woman early Wednesday morning.
Jefferson City police got a call from a woman at a local hotel who said she had been robbed at gunpoint.
“The victim was able to produce a very good description of the subject that had robbed her of her cell phone and her money,” JCPD Lt. David Williams said. “The officers that responded to the scene were familiar with the description of the subject that they had prior knowledge and contacts with.” The man was identified as 23-year-old Jerry Cave, Jr.
Williams said, once Cave was identified, police began their search. They found him about twelve hours later on Jefferson Street, and he implicated himself in the robbery during an interview.
