A Jefferson City man isn’t charged with theft, but he did try to run from police when they confronted him about some stuff that wasn’t his.
Wayne Ivory, 24, faces one count each of receiving stolen property and resisting arrest, and is being held in the Cole County Jail.
Jefferson City Police got a tip Ivory was involved in a burglary and theft at a home on Buena Vista late Monday night. They say someone took televisions, a laptop, and even clothes from the home. Officers staked out Ivory’s residence Tuesday and saw he had the stolen goods. When they stopped him about it, Ivory tried to run away, but police arrested him after a short foot chase.
His bond is set at $50,000.
