Police in the capital city make another step forward in their fight against heroin by arresting three area dealers this week.
Jefferson City Police say 33-year-old Steven Dennis, 32-year-old Tatum Carter, and 23-year-old Gregory Wright are all Chicago residents who were staying in Mid-Missouri to deal drugs. Investigators say Dennis is a high-level dealer who is also a suspect in recent heroin overdoses in Jefferson City. He faces five charges of distributing drugs, and is in the Cole County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
Carter and Wright face one drug count each, and are being held on individual $100,000 bonds.
Officers say they expect to keep making heroin arrests in Jefferson City as the investigation continues. They say heroin overdoses in the city are down over 60-percent compared to last year.
