A member of a violent Chicago gang is arrested here in Mid-Missouri.
Jefferson City Police spotted 22-year-old Latrell Doss as the passenger in a car on East Miller Thursday evening. Community Action Team members pulled the car over, because they knew Doss was a parole violator from the Windy City. He’s also a known member of the Black Disciples gang, which is thought to be responsible for multiple shootings in Chicago.
Captain Doug Shoemaker says Doss tried to run from officers and resist arrest, but they caught him and took him to the Cole County Jail. He apparently is no stranger to officers in the capitol city, but has been using fake names with them for the past month or so.
Shoemaker says Doss is also a suspect in the violent robbery of a beauty salon on Chicago’s south side back in June. He says Doss’ arrest sends a message that Jefferson City authorities will use all the resources they have to catch known criminals who come to the area.
