One Suspect Still Loose in CoMo Drive-By
He’s a victim…and he’s also a suspect. Coty Galbreath, 23, went from the hospital to the Boone County Jail, for his alleged involvement in some gun shots near Texas and Garth Avenues Wednesday afternoon. Police say they found 27 shell casings from three different guns in that area. Galbreath was taken by private car to a local hospital after the shooting, and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
CPD has also named a second suspect in the shootings. Investigators say 22-year-old Moises Guillen should be considered armed and dangerous. He’s Hispanic, nearly six feet tall, with several tattoos, including a “C” in front of his left ear, and a cross on the back of his right hand.
Besides Galbreath, no one was hurt, but bullets did hit several cars.
(Moises Rodrigo Guillen is wanted in the shooting.)
(Coty Thomas Galbreath was shot Wednesday, but is now in custody as a suspect in the incident.)
The latest shots fired call in Columbia feels like something out of the big city.
Police say they found 27 shell casings from three different guns Wednesday afternoon at the corner of Garth and Texas Avenue. Officer Latisha Stroer says two vehicles in the area traded fire at about 12:30. She says a black SUV with bullet holes was abandoned at the Garth and Blue Ridge Road roundabout.
Stroer says one person was taken to a local hospital by private car with a gunshot wound. Investigators say two nearby homes also took damage.
Police don’t have any suspect information as of 3:00 Wednesday afternoon. They say it’s too early to tell if the shooting is connected to other high-profile gun violence in Columbia over the past few weeks.
