**UPDATE 3:00pm Monday**
Charges are filed against the husband of a Jefferson City woman who died Saturday morning… but they aren’t for murder.
Police went to a home on McKinley Street after Albert Glisson, 31, found his wife Amanda unconscious and not breathing. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers noted she had physical ailments that limited her mobility.
Captain Doug Shoemaker says police also found signs of trauma on Amanda’s body, and started asking questions. They interviewed Albert Glisson, and determined he assaulted his wife on Friday night, before her death. Officers then arrested Glisson, who faces felony domestic assault charges. He’s now out on bond.
Investigators say an autopsy performed Monday didn’t provide any information that could immediately lead to more charges in the case. Shoemaker says detectives are still investigating.
Jefferson City authorities are hoping to release more information Monday about a suspicious death that happened over the weekend.
Police found a dead body found near Ellis-Porter Park late Saturday morning. We don’t know the name of the victim yet, but KMIZ reports Albert Glisson is in jail for felony assault, in connection with the death.
Investigators aren’t saying yet why they think the death is suspicious.
