The clown behind those controversial Obama comments during a rodeo at the Missouri State Fair says he’s received death threats, and never meant to offend anyone.
Another clown wore the Obama mask during the rodeo on the 10th in Sedalia, while Tuffy Gessling made comments to the crowd, including “We’re gonna stomp Obama.” The rodeo act was sharply criticized by officials in Missouri as disrespectful.
Gessling tells KCTV that people have also threatened to run him over and burn down his home. But he says the clown act wasn’t meant to be any different than acts that poke fun at other presidents.
Gessling also says he has a rodeo coming up in Jefferson City and if President Obama comes, he’d like to shake his hand.
