It’s a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. The discovery of mold at the old state prison in Jefferson City has shut down tours until it can be cleaned-up. Mayor Eric Struemph says he wants the city to chip in and help.
“That is a capital improvement in my eyes, and I think one think that we have to get out of this if we’re going to put in city money is a long-term agreement that would allow us to continue these tours through the CVB,” says Struemph.
Struemph will be sitting down with the Office of Administration to discuss the clean-up. The city council would have to approve the funding.
