It may not be earth-shattering, but 27 new jobs is a step in the right direction for the capital city.
Morris Converting of Bloomington Illinois has closed on a nine-acre site near the Jefferson City Scholastic plant on Algoa Road. The firm will make bags for a Mid-Missouri pet food manufacturer. Morris is spending $3 million on the project and hopes be in operation by spring of next year.
Just last week, the R.R. Donnelley printing plant closed in Jefferson City. Nearly 500 workers lost their jobs.
