By the end of Tuesday, Ryan Ferguson could walk out of the Jefferson City Correctional Center.
If the Missouri Attorney General’s office doesn’t move to stop a bond motion Tuesday, a judge could elect to set bond for Ferguson. His murder conviction in the 2001 death of Kent Heitholt was vacated by an appeals court last week. A special prosecutor has until November 20th to re-file charges in the case.
Ferguson’s father, Bill, tells us it may be Wednesday morning before Ryan gets out if bond is set. Attorney Kathleen Zellner went on Twitter Monday to say she was traveling with her team to Mid-Missouri. She said she won’t leave until Ryan Ferguson walks out of the prison doors.
