A Jefferson City man who admitted to wanting to meet a child for sex is sentenced to prison time.
Nicholas Bax, 35, learned his fate in court Monday. A judge sentenced Bax to five years in prison for attempting to sexually exploit a minor, and four years each for attempted statutory sodomy and sexual misconduct.
The Boone County Cyber Crimes Task Force says Bax thought he was talking to a 14-year-old boy in September and October of 2012, but it was really an investigator. They say Bax even tried to meet the boy when he thought the child snuck out of his house.
Bax pleaded guilty to the felony charges this September.
