It seems Missouri gas stations will continue to show you low prices at the pump.
A gallon of regular fuel costs an average of $2.97 in Columbia right now, and prices have been under $3.00 for weeks.
Mike Right with AAA Missouri says it’s unusual to see prices stay this low for this long.
“Missouri has the lowest gasoline prices of any state average in the country at $2.89,” Right says. “There’s only about a half-dozen states… that are enjoying these kinds of prices below $3.00 a gallon.
On “The Eagle Eye Drive at Five,” Right says a calm hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico and steady refinery supplies have helped keep down the price of gasoline.
