Some might argue no heat for prisoners is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Cole County Presiding Commissioner Marc Ellinger says they had to come up with some emergency funds to get the heat back on in the old county jail.
“The main floor has some holding cells that we will use to hold prisoners when they are going to and from court,” Ellinger says. “Both boilers went out in the space of a little over a week.”
The boiler repairs cost $20,000. Ellinger says the work should be done Friday.
