Posted by Warren Krech on January 15, 2014

An area scam artist could be facing prison time for stealing over $100,000 from elderly relatives. Boone County authorities are searching for 44-year-old Farrel Pride of Sturgeon on a warrant for financial exploitation of the elderly.

“The suspect is accused of bilking some relatives, one of who is terminally ill, out of approximately $109,000, ” says Detective Tom O’Sullivan with the Sheriff’s office.

He says the exploited couple lives in Colorado. Local authorities learned of the crime last year and conducted a lengthy investigation that led them to Pride.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for any information leading to the arrest of Farrel Pride. O’Sullivan says anyone with information on his whereabouts should call police immediately.
