On June 6th, 1944 Allied troops invaded Normandy and turned the tide of World War II. Jefferson City resident E. John Knapp was a navigator on a B17 bomber that day. Here’s his story as told to his family:
John went on to start a successful architectural firm, and along with his wife Maxine raised 3 children: Marcia Krech, Laura Arvold, and Eric Knapp. John is 97 years young, and still writes poetry.
