Narrow win in Mid – Mo State Rep race

Mid Missouri voters went to the polls yesterday in several jurisdictions.

They voted in a new state representative in parts of Cole, Boone, Moniteau and Cooper counties, and said no to most tax issues. The new State Representative is Republican Sara Walsh who narrowly defeated Democrat Michela Skelton in a race to succeed Caleb Jones…a Republican who resigned his seat to join Governor Greitens’ administration. Voters in the North Callaway and Centralia school districts said no to school tax levy increases for teachers’ salaries and technology improvements. Voters in Boone County said yes to continuing the county road tax. Voters in Camden County turned thumbs down on a tax levy increase for the Sunrise Beach Fire Department. Voters in Osage County came out overwhelmingly in favor of a capital improvements sales tax. And voters in Russellville almost unanimously approved a local sales tax question.
