Three employees have been injured during an accident at the Callaway Nuclear Plant.

Ameren Missouri said Tuesday night that the accident occurred in the switch yard area of its Callaway Energy Center shortly after 5 p.m.

The company wouldn’t say what happened. A county emergency management spokesperson said the 911 call reported burn victims, including two with burns to the face.

Ameren said the incident did not affect operations of the nuclear plant. The company added it wasn’t providing more details on the injuries out of respect for the workers’ privacy.
