An Extra Day Off for State Workers

Governor Jay Nixon says state government workers will get the day after Thanksgiving off as a state holiday. Nixon says he made the decision after continued improvement in the state’s economy. The announcement comes right before the November election. Jay Nixon faces Democratic challenger Dave Spence and several third-party candidates.
