Woman rescued from floodwaters

A woman and her dog are okay after being rescued from a flooded creek near the Cole  – Moniteau County line. The woman drove into flood waters on a creek on Mount Hope Road Thursday. Russellville and Jefferson City firefighters used a boat to get to the woman’s car.

Prison time ordered in Brumley arson

A Miller County man will spend the next several years in prison. Cody Umfleet pleaded guilty to arson, stealing and weapons charges. He admitted to breaking into a Brumley convenience store and setting it on fire in 2020. He was caught after an attempted robbery with the stolen gun.
