New JCMO administrator starts today

Jefferson City’s new city administrator Brian Crane is on the job today. Crane takes over from administrator Steve Crowell who resigned in April after nearly ten years on the job. Crane, a former Jefferson City Councilman, leaves his job as Moberly City Manager. Crane grew up in Jefferson City.

Swimmer almost drowns at the Lake

A man from Kansas nearly drowns at the Lake of the Ozarks. Troopers say 31 year old Jared Hawkins of Wathena Kansas dived into the lake in shallow water in Hollow Cove Friday night. He was taken to a Lake area hospital.
