Business Owner Convicted of Arson

A Knob Noster man could face seven years in prison after his conviction on arson charges for burning his Jefferson City business.

Kurt Steidly was accused of setting Everhart’s Sporting Goods on fire on New Years Day in 2011. He had closed the business only days before. Steidly testified that he had smelled gas in building and denied that he set the fire.

His sentencing is scheduled for March.
