Aldermen made the shake-up during a city council meeting Tuesday. City Administrator Kelly Henderson, Police Chief Anthony Consiglio, and city Attorney David Bandre will not be retained by the city of Ashland.

The city administrator and police chief will stay on the job until the mayor appoints their replacements. On top of all that, Mayor Michael Jackson says he plans to retire.

A Jefferson City woman is in jail, after admitting she had sex with a teenage boy.

The mother of the 15-year-old male tipped off police in the capital city about the couple, and officers learned they were hiding in the woods near his home. They eventually found them both Tuesday, and 37-year-old Tammy Robinett confessed she’d had sex with the boy. The boy admitted it too, according to his mother.

Robinett is now in the Cole County Jail, arrested on two counts of statutory rape.

Columbia city officials want more. American Airlines has hit its revenue goal at Columbia Regional Airport for two straight months now, on the daily flight to Chicago and the two daily flights to Dallas. Now, city Finance Director John Blattel says they’ll lobby American for another daily Chicago trip.

“It’s really difficult, if you for some reason get delayed and have to miss the first flight, you have to wait until the second day,” Blattel says. “If we had a second flight, and you had booked the first flight, you perhaps could re-book and catch the second flight.”

Blattel says the airport is exceeding its goal of 80% capacity on American Airlines flights out of Columbia. He believes that trend would continue, even with a second Chicago option.

We now know why dozens of students at the Russellville school got sick last week.

The Cole County Health Department says Norovirus is what made nearly 100 kids complain of severe stomach problems and diarrhea. Health officials say there’s no treatment or vaccine available for the virus, which usually runs its course in a couple of days.

County Health Director Dr. Marie Peoples says people affected by Norovirus should remember to stay hydrated, and any surfaces that come in contact with the bug should be disinfected with a bleach-based cleaner.

Jose Hurtado was accused in the shooting death of Francisco Navarro at Apache Manor Trailer Park in 2011. The dispute supposedly started over a loud truck muffler.

Cole County Prosecutor Mark Richardson says the dropped charges involve a witness in the case. He adds he could re-file the murder allegations at a later date.

Co-defendant Rafael Fuentes saw his murder charges dismissed earlier.

Don’t let the cops do their job, and you can get a free tour of the police station. Five people are arrested Sunday after officers tried to arrest a burglary suspect. Jefferson City police went to a house on Monroe Street Sunday afternoon for a possible burglary in progress.

They tried to arrest Cameron Jackson-Bey, 21, when he became combative. As Jackson-Bey was being arrested, four others – two men and two women – confronted and threatened the officers. Captain Doug Shoemaker says officers had to use pepper spray to subdue the crowd before anyone got hurt.

Shoemaker says some people at the scene who obeyed police orders did not get sprayed. The four who did were all taken into custody for interfering with an arrest and failure to obey a law officer.

Do you want to help the Oklahoma tornado victims? Don’t send bottled water… send money. The Red Cross’ Dave Griffith says don’t even think about heading to the scene, like some folks in southwest Missouri two years ago.

“[Volunteers] got in their cars and trucks, and loaded a lot of water and stuff and went down to Joplin [in 2011],” Griffith says. “They were very disappointed when they got to the city limits and were turned away.”

He says the fastest way to help is to text the words “Red Cross” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
