Clements Murder Suspect Released From Prison Early

Posted by Warren Krech on April 2, 2013

The man who may have killed Tom Clements shouldn’t have even been out of prison. The AP reports court administrators now admit a clerical error on Evan Ebel’s sentences. He was released January 28th, even though he should have been behind bars for about four more years.

Clements, a former Columbia resident and Missouri Department of Corrections officer, was shot last month in Colorado. Ebel was killed soon after that, during a shootout in Texas on March 21st. He was using the same gun that killed Clements.
