A Columbia man pleads guilty to federal drug charges connected to a deadly deal.

Ellison “Lucky” Hutchison, 36, appeared in court Monday, and admitted to dealing heroin to Maximillion Shackleford in January 2012. Later that day, Columbia Police found Shackleford dead of an overdose at his home, and used call history in his phone to track the drugs to Hutchison. Officers searched Hutchison’s house and found an active drug dealing operation.

He faces up to 22 years without parole in federal prison.
