Conference Center Chat at Council Meeting

Posted by Warren Krech on September 17, 2013

Jefferson City leaders get to hear plenty about a proposed conference center. Several people told the city council Monday night that the planned center may be too little, too soon.

Most speakers favored a downtown location, but there was some support for the proposal to build at Capital Mall.

The owner of the Doubletree Hotel downtown says the facility should be closer in size to what has been spelled out by the city’s consultant. More public hearings on the conference center are coming up Thursday and Monday.
