Controversy in Local Sheriff’s Race

The Osage County Sheriff race came to a boiling point recently, with a confrontation between two of the candidates. Belle City Marshal Michael Dixon was called to a meth bust in Linn, where he was physically threatened by detective Gary Storey, who is on the ballot as a write-in candidate. Storey was later suspended for threatening Dixon, but he remains in the race. The third candidate, former Osage County deputy Shannon Linhardt, says he’s staying out of the controversy.
