Drought Finally Gone in Mid-Missouri
Look at me… I’m drought free! Farmers and green thumbs across Mid-Missouri can finally say that for the first time in nearly a year.
The U.S. Drought Monitor released its latest map of the Show-Me State on Thursday. It shows every county in our area out of the drought for the first time since May of last year. It’s a remarkable change from last summer, where everyone was in the top two categories of water shortages.
Overall, about two-thirds of the state is finally out of the drought. West Missouri still has to get some more rainfall before emerging from dry conditions, and parts of Kansas are still way short on moisture.
