Great Year for Mid-Mo Animal Shelter

A local animal shelter says 2012 was a banner year.

The Central Missouri Humane Society says it had just over 2,200 adoptions of dogs, cats, and small animals last year. That’s up from 2011, and officials say it included some record-breaking adoption events. For instance, 44 cats found new homes in four hours at one adoption event in 2012.

When you add in the number of animals the local Humane Society sent to rescue organizations, the group saved the lives of over 3,000 animals last year.
