JC Council Gets Conference Center Pitches
Does the Farmer Group have the inside track on a capital city conference center?
The Jefferson City developers presented their plan for a proposed center to a packed house at the Jefferson City council meeting Thursday night. Kirk Farmer told the council his group has increased planned meeting space to 30,000 square feet, and plans to build an attached 150–room hotel at the Capital Mall.
The city is discussing tax increment financing to help fund the project, along with the already earmarked $9 million in lodging tax funds. The other proposed developers, the Erhardt group, turned in a final proposal but were not at the meeting.
