JC High Opposition Emerges

There’s now organized opposition to a plan to build a new $70 million dollar Jefferson City High School.

The new group, Concerned Citizens for Two Public High Schools, questioned school board members about their planned funding for the complex and asked why the plan to build two new high schools was ignored. They also claim the new single school may not be able to cope with growing enrollment.

A new high school would be built on Highway 179 near the new St. Mary’s Health Center. JC High School, Simonsen 9th Grade Center and the Nichols Career Center would be sold to Lincoln University and Linn State Technical College.
