Some sharp eyes and ears help bust up a Jefferson City burglary in progress.

Captain Doug Shoemaker says police got a call from the Kwik Stop store on Lafayette Street at about 1:30 Tuesday morning. When officers got there, the burglars scattered. Shoemaker says police used prints in the snow to track two men to East McCarty Street. Another suspect was found hiding on Cherry.

Officer police arrested 24-year-old Byron Williams, 34-year-old Julio Smith and 18-year-old Keshawn Sayles. Shoemaker says the Jefferson City men were all taken to the Cole County Jail, pending charges for attempted burglary.
