JCTV Supporters Pack Jefferson City Council Meeting

Posted by Warren Krech on August 20, 2013

Supporters of Jefferson City’s public access TV channel packed the Council chamber, asking city leaders not to cut $110,000 in funding from the 2014 budget.

Mayor Eric Struemph has proposed eliminating funding for the channel, saying it’s not essential in tight budget times.

Councilmen also discussed setting up floating holidays for city staff. The City Administrator and Mayor are at odds over the plan. A price tag of $7,500 has been attached to the holidays. Struemph says that estimate is way too low.
