Jefferson City Heroin Arrest

Posted by Warren Krech on December 12, 2012

Some of Jefferson City’s finest had a rough day at work on Tuesday.

Police Captain Doug Shoemaker says officers pulled over a car near the intersection of West Main and Berry. 26-year-old Maurice Rollins of Jefferson City first got out of the car and walked toward the officers, but when they questioned him, he tried to get away.

Shoemaker says Rollins wasn’t done fighting when officers caught up with him… Rollins allegedly punched and struck officers before they subdued him. When they searched Rollins, police found a half-gram of heroin, packaged to sell. Rollins is now in the Cole County Jail awaiting charges of drug distribution, assault on a law officer and resisting arrest. Shoemaker says the arresting officers didn’t take any treatment for their injuries.
