Landmark at Lake Damaged By Fire

Posted by Warren Krech on April 8, 2013

One of the Lake’s most recognizable landmarks caught fire this weekend.

Lee Mace’s Ozark Opry is still standing, but suffered major interior damage. Crews first arrived to heavy fire and smoke coming from the roof of the Osage Beach building Sunday morning, and got the fire under control by early in the afternoon.

The Ozark Opry building opened in 1954. It hasn’t been used for more than seven years.
