Lawmakers Consider Bond Funds for State

Missouri may soon have a way to improve roads and buildings that does not include paying more taxes. State house members are preparing a bond package that would pay for transportation project, state buildings and other infrastructure needs.

Republican House Speaker Tim Jones says Missouri has “vast” construction needs and these bonds could provide the funding without a tax increase. The state recently made its final payment for the Third State building fund… that means millions of dollars are freed up for other projects now.
