Some local veterans from our Greatest Generation will get to see the national World War Two memorial, thanks to local students. The Jefferson City and Columbia districts joined together in November to raise money for Central Missouri Honor Flight. Columbia raised $15,000, and Jefferson City added $7,000 to send 75 veterans to the memorial in Washington, D.C. The school districts formally presented Honor Flight with the money at its Honor Ball on Sunday.
