Maylee Sentenced to Life for Triple Murder
A Holts Summit man will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty to a triple homicide.
Joshua Maylee, 26, made his plea Monday in Boone County Circuit Court. Judge Kevin Crane sentenced Maylee to life in prison without parole, on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault.
Maylee now admits he killed Eugene and Jackie Pinet at their home near Holts Summit during a shooting rampage in October 2010. Maylee also shot and killed Jeffrey Werdehausen at his Callaway County home. Werdehausen’s wife Gina was also shot, but survived.
Authorities say Maylee was involved in a theft ring with the two male victims, and acted as a confidential informant until six weeks before the killings. He would have faced the possibility of the death penalty had his case gone to trial in September.
