MoDOT Winter Drill Proves Helpful

It was a winter storm without a single snowflake, and MoDOT officials say it helped them a lot. The department ran a statewide winter storm drill on Halloween morning to work out any bugs in its storm response plans.

Central District Maintenance Engineer Mark Giessinger says the drill finds problems that are otherwise hidden, like faulty software at some new two-way radio towers…

Giessinger says other minor problems popped up… like the parking situation at the Central District office during a shift change. He says most of the drill ran smoothly.
