Rest In Peace, Rick

Our co-worker and good friend Frederick J. ‘Rick’ Denckhoff passed away this week.
Rick was 67. He’s been the morning sports voice on KWOS for years and did
yeoman work behind the scenes. Rick came to us as a part time weekender,
but quickly moved up into the full time sports anchor / overniter job. But Rick wasn’t just a sports fan. He was also very well read, holding a Political Science degree from Washington University. And being a brother of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity (we won’t hold that against you for being a ‘Teek’!)

Rick, a ‘confirmed’ bachelor, has many friends in and around Mid–Missouri including a lot of folks in Linn where he worked for years and was an active Linn Lion.

He was always willing and able to go the extra mile, whether for a friend or on the job. Rick was overly generous, especially on birthdays and at Christmas. He was a true gentlemen in an era when much of society has forgotten how important that really is.

We’ll all miss you a lot.
