Shots Fired in Downtown Columbia
No injuries reported on this one, but it’s still a scary time to go out in downtown Columbia.
Police say a fight broke out at about 1:35 a.m. Saturday near Harpo’s at Cherry and Tenth Streets. When they arrived, officers report the fight had moved to an alley on South Ninth Street, near businesses like Panera Bread and Shotbar. They heard several gunshots there, then saw a newer grey car speed away. Officers have found that vehicle, but haven’t told us anything about the suspects yet.
Again, it appears no one was hurt this time, and no property damage has been reported either. If you go back to our last downtown incident on June 21st, that’s now 11 shots fired calls in the Columbia area over the last five weeks.
