Stover Farmer Charged with Animal Abuse

Posted by Warren Krech on January 30, 2013

A Stover farmer is now charged with animal abuse after dead cattle were found on his farm.

Ed Coleman is accused of neglecting the livestock after the cattle were discovered dead on the Morgan County farm earlier this month. Authorities seized more cattle along with a calf that later died.

It’s not the only recent case of alleged animal abuse in Mid-Missouri. George Davis, Jr. of Vienna pleaded guilty earlier this month to an animal abuse charge in Maries County Court. Investigators found dead and malnourished horses and livestock on his farm in September 2012. Davis is currently on probation.
