A Mid-Missouri car chase ends with a crash into a tree. A Fulton Police officer checked a Ford Explorer Monday afternoon for an equipment violation, and found out the SUV was stolen out of Centralia earlier in the day. He tried to pull the vehicle over, but the people inside took off. The chase went a few miles south of Fulton to the small town of Hams Prairie, until the SUV crashed into a tree on a county road.

The two suspects tried to run for it, but were quickly caught in a field. The driver, 26-year-old Hazel Benton of Holts Summit, faces tampering with a vehicle, resisting arrest, and drug charges. She also had active warrants for her arrest in Cole and Maries counties. The passenger, 29-year-old Deric Farley of Portland, Missouri, has tampering with a vehicle and resisting arrest charges.
