VA Murder Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

Not guilty due to mental illness. That’s the plea for 33-year-old Rudy Perez, Junior, of Sedalia, the man who allegedly killed a fellow patient at Columbia’s VA hospital. His attorney claims Perez is schizophrenic, and had not taken prescribed meds. 78-year-old Robert Hill of Warsaw died at the VA hospital last Friday night. Perez was arraigned in Boone County court on Thursday.
